How do students earn credits?
In the core academic classes (English I, Algebra, Environmental Science, and US History), students present a portfolio exhibition during the first week of June to a committee including family and community members, peers, and ConneXions’ staff. This committee will recommend the awarding/denial of a credit based on the portfolio and exhibition.
In the electives classes, credit is based on performance goals which are met in class (in the case of studio art) or performance/competition (in the case of dance, drum, martial arts, etc.). Electives work will be presented in exhibition based on consultation between student and electives teacher.
